munity Partners -Twenty One Years Of Service, Christ Church Episcopal Parish, Lake OswegoAny recognition of Christ Church Episcopal is an understatement considering their enormous contributions since the founding of Potluck in the Park. Five rotating cook teams prepare, deliver and serve 14-16 hotel-sized casseroles, salads and beverages. Some team members have never been to the park to see their meal creations enjoyed, but all contribute to “give back what we have been graciously given.” Special recognition goes to Augusta Shipsey for 21 years of service and Alison & Larry Gilmore for 16 years of service.
In 2009, volunteers from Christ Church Episcopal Parish raised funds that allowed Potluck to purchase, logo, and maintain a 2004 Chevy Astro Cargo van. This van is used to pick up over 4000 pounds of food and supplies, then transport the meal from the kitchen to the park, and retrieve dirty dishes and recycling. Our heartfelt thanks to all of Potluck’s lifelong friends from Christ Church Episcopal.
