A Celebration of Community and Compassion

You’re invited to join Potluck in the Park for our 31st Annual Christmas Dinner and Sidewalk Coffee & Pastry Café — a Portland tradition of sharing food, friendship, and holiday cheer with anyone in need.

In partnership with the Portland Art Museum, we’ll once again transform the Fred and Suzanne Fields Ballroom into a warm, festive dining hall filled with music, laughter, and the spirit of giving.

Each year, more than 1,000 guests enjoy a free traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, accompanied by live jazz from some of Portland’s finest musicians. Santa Claus will be on hand for photos and smiles throughout the afternoon.

We also welcome donations of homemade or commercial non-perishable pies, cakes, cookies, and pastries to serve our guests at the Christmas Dinner and our Sidewalk Coffee & Pastry Café. Signup will begin at the same time as volunteer registration.

Transforming the Ballroom

Set up

The day before Christmas, volunteers and partners come together to turn the museum’s ballroom into a holiday wonderland — complete with a decorated tree, wreaths, fresh garland, and poinsettias from our generous florist and nursery friends.

It’s one of Portland’s most heartwarming holiday traditions — and everyone is welcome to share in the spirit of the day.
