Community Partners Who Make It Happen

For more than three decades, Potluck in the Park has relied on the compassion and dedication of our community partners, faith organizations, and countless volunteers. Each week, these groups prepare meals, donate supplies, raise funds, and lend helping hands to ensure that no one in Portland goes hungry on a Sunday afternoon.

We are deeply grateful for every casserole baked, every salad tossed, every meal served, and every kind word shared. Together, our partners make it possible for Potluck to continue serving hundreds of guests each week with dignity and respect.

Below, we recognize just a few of the incredible teams who embody the spirit of Potluck in the Park. Their continued service reminds us that community happens when people care for one another.

A shout out to our Community Partners

Community Partners – 34 Years Of Service, Christ Church Episcopal Parish, Lake Oswego

We are grateful beyond words for Christ Church Episcopal and its enormous contributions since the founding of Potluck in the Park.  Multiple times a month rotating cook teams from Christ Church prepare and deliver 14-16 hotel-sized casseroles.  Some team members have never been to the park to see their meal creations enjoyed, but all contribute to “give back what we have been graciously given.”

In 2009, volunteers from Christ Church Episcopal Parish raised funds that allowed Potluck to purchase, logo, and maintain a 2004 Chevy Astro Cargo van. This van is used to pick up over 4000 pounds of food and supplies, then transport meals from our kitchen to the park and retrieve dirty dishes and recycling. Our heartfelt thanks to all of Potluck’s lifelong friends from Christ Church Episcopal.
First Congregational 4th sunday team
Community Partners – 26+ Years of Service, First Congregational, Portland

Since 1999 First Congregational has partnered with Potluck in the Park providing a beverage table. Each week a rotating team provides about 30 gallons of miscellaneous beverages (procure, prepare, deliver and serve) for about 300 to 500 hungry and thirsty persons every Sunday afternoon. Huge thanks to the longtime support from First Congregational.

Second Sunday team shown left above, fourth Sunday team left below.
